Patch 2.4 Highlights for Diablo 2 Resurrected – New Runewords, Changes to Class Balance, and More

New Horadric Cube Recipes, runewords, the option to upgrade unused sets, new mercenary adjustments, class balancing, and D2R ladder items are all coming to Diablo 2 Resurrected. Let’s see what we’ve got!

Diablo 2’s Resurrected Ladder New Runewords, Upgraded Sets, and Balance Changes

Standard ladder, hardcore ladder, standard expansion ladder, and hardcore expansion ladder will all be available in Diablo 2 Resurrected, just like they were in Diablo II Classic. So you could simply go for it and play the old classic D2 from way back when. You can also play the expansion ladder, but only for softcore and hardcore, if you so desire. That’s an amazing thing you’ve done. For myself, I’d prefer to play normal expansion ladder with a chance of dabbling in hardcore.

How does the ladder season for Diablo 2 Resurrected work? For the first time in the Ladder system, players will be able to unlock a variety of new Rune Words! Players who successfully complete these Diablo 2 Rune Words will have their Ladder characters transferred to a “non-Ladder” version of the game at the end of a Ladder season. Players will then create a new Ladder character at the start of the next Ladder season and begin earning new rewards all over again.

Changes to Amazon Class Balance: The strengths of some Amazon melee skills, such as Impale and Fend, may be boosted to encourage players to use them. Blizzard is also working on reducing the need for synergy requirements for melee skills, allowing more skill points to be allocated to other alternatives. Furthermore, several talents in the Bow and Crossbow tree may be strengthened to aid in improving bow gameplay in more difficult conditions.

– Assassin: Its generation and expenditure of Combo Points can be increased, and there will be new trap constructions and damage scaling buffs.

– Barbarian: Blizzard will expand the possibilities of Combat Skills like Leap Attack and Grim Ward, as well as re-evaluate the skill synergy requirements to provide players more compelling reasons to put points into specific Combat Skills. 

– Druid: Physical damage components and synergies for some Fire skills, as well as controls for Arctic Blast and Werebear talents, will be improved.

– Necromancer: Specific Summons that are underutilized will receive enhancements. The Golems that aren’t used as much will be more powerful.

– Paladin: AoE Damage auras have been improved to be more effective at shorter ranges. Thorns’ scaling and damage consistency will also be improved by Blizzard, allowing it to do more consistent damage at higher levels.

– Sorceress: More varied armor skills (such as Frozen Armor, Shiver Armor, and Chilling Armor).

Changes to Mercenaries, New D2R Rune Words, and More

Mercenaries will be improved in a number of ways, including skill and stat upgrades to deepen their identity and fantasy. New Horadric Cube Recipes, as well as new Rune Words, are all on the way!

– New Horadric Cube Recipes: These will improve the item quality of Set Items, allowing for more item builds.

– Changes to Set Items: Players will have a greater incentive to seek for partial and complete set items, which will complement the skill modifications indicated above, which will update underperforming Diablo 2 Resurrected Ladder Items with additional bonuses.

– New Rune Word: They’ll work with the update’s new skill and mercenary changes.
