3 Questions to Ask Commercial Roof Contractors Before Hiring Them

Did you know there are roughly 103,755 roofing companies in the US?

With so many roofing companies on offer, choosing the right one can be hard. That said, if you ask certain kinds of questions, you should be able to filter out the companies that won’t be a good fit for you.

Keep reading, and you’ll discover three questions you should ask commercial roof contractors before you hire them. If you use these questions, you should be able to find the perfect company for your needs.

Let’s begin!

1. How Long Have You Been in Business?

Asking roofing contractors how long they’ve been in business is a good idea, as doing so will help you identify the firms with the most experience.

Ideally, you’ll want to work with someone that has been around for at least two years.

In some cases, a firm might tell you that they’ve been around for two years, but you might not believe them. Following this, you might want to ask them for some kind of proof.

One form of proof you might want to ask for is an old example of work that they’ve done. You might also ask them to provide certain kinds of documents that show they’ve been in business for over two years.

2. What Official Documentation Do You Have?

When you’re speaking to a commercial roofing company, you should also ask them about the official documentation they have.

That’s because, in many states, roofers will need to gain special licenses and permits before they can work with clients.

If a roofer cannot provide you with such documentation, there’s a good chance they’re not recognized by the state. Due to this, they might not have the appropriate skills, and thus they may not provide you with high-quality work.

Note that each state will have different rules when it comes to the official paperwork a  commercial roofer will need. Following this, you should contact your local state to find out what you need to ask for when speaking to a roofer.

3. How Much Will This Cost?

When you’re talking to commercial roofing contractors, you should also ask them how much everything will cost.

If you want an accurate quote, you need to provide the roofers with a detailed explanation of what you want. For instance, do you want to replace the entire roof, or are you just interested in roof repair?

Asking for a quote is also a good idea, as you can now use this figure to identify which contractor will provide you with the cheapest solution.

Time to Speak to Some Commercial Roof Contractors?

There are many commercial roof contractors out there, and it’s easy to make a mistake when you’re deciding on a particular company.

However, if you use the questions in this post, you should be able to avoid the nightmare firms that will create a lot of problems.
