Ahlem Tartir: Preserver of Academic and Career Excellence

Dr. Ahlem Arfaoui Tartir is the best example of academic and career excellence. Born on September 14, 1979, Tartir didn’t only excel at her academic achievements but also strengthened her name in the corporate world. In addition, she is an International Human Rights Observer and International Expert in Sustainable Development.

Being devoted to her studies, she possesses a diversified academic record that not only gave her enough expertise to enter the political world but also provided her with worldwide recognition. Her academic excellence began with a baccalaureate diploma in mathematics in 1998. It continued till 2021 with a certification in Integrated Planning for Climate Change and Biodiversity, Negotiation from the United States Institution of Peace, Law of International Organizations, Anticorruption and Human Rights, and International Law from the United Nations Institute of Training and Research. She also completed a Master’s in Public Administration, MBA, and Ph.D. in Political Science in her academic journey. Undoubtedly, it all added stars to her span of knowledge!

In 2020, Tartir became a certified expert in strengthening the humanitarian-development nexus through capacity building, received another honorary Ph.D. from Royal American University, and received certification in Crisis Management from WHO. She also became a certified Consultant in Diplomatic Protocol from the US Institute of Diplomacy and Human Rights, an MSA in Leadership Principles from the Business School of Harvard University, and another MSA in Leadership change from New York University. In 2022, she was certified in the Human Rights-based approach to disability.

Considering all the relentless nights she spent covered in her books, Tartir became a known legend in the world of academics. This helped her in opening gateways of expanded career opportunities. She started working as a mayor of the Municipality of Beja, Tunisia government delegate, and as an administrator advisor for government agencies. She served as second-degree Secretary General of the Municipality from 2012 to 2014. Because of her diversified exposure, she has been serving as an international expert and coach with expertise in local government since 2014. Tartir is also an international consultant in local governance and democracy in the United Nations. She is also an executive member of the International Federation of Aging and a Diplomatic Protocol and Etiquette Consultant.
